What's Your Screen Time?

Contentment is a theme that I have been interested in since starting my MA in Photography.  In a previous unit I researched and studied social media advertising which brought about this notion of a society that is becoming more and more discontent. I decided to pursue this theme through street photography around the UK and streets of New York.  

What I found was that whether we are in the heart of bustling city or by a tranquil coast line, we now seem to be compelled to be using our smartphones in one or another.  My question is, do they make us more or less content?
