When I embarked on my Masters in Photography back in 2017 I vividly recall after the second week, tearfully questioning my capability to complete the course whilst teaching and running Just SO Productions... I was overwhelmed with the thought of having to balance education, blogging and establishing who I was professionally (oh and figuring out the beast that is Wordpress...). BUT, here I am, overjoyed with the fact that I was, in the end more worried about whether I could hit an A (sadly I was 1 mark off!).
The exhibition evening itself was a success, collectively our work looked so good. As a group, our styles couldn't have been more eclectic, which was such an asset on the evening. Despite all being so uniquely different, I cannot express my gratitude enough to my peers. The moral support, the positive encouragement and the friendly faces that honestly admitted how ruddy hard they were finding it too, made me feel like it was accomplishable. And it was. I also can't thank my boyfriend Andy Toner enough either. He spent days and days, weeks and weeks with a stressed, erratic girlfriend, he patiently read through my photo-book about a million times and helped our wherever he could. What a legend. I am lucky.
So now it is all over... and this is mostly why I am here. Setting myself up as a photography and filmmaker. I have realised along the 36 month journey, that this is what I want to do. I CAN be a photographer and filmmaker both at the same time. And as long as I am, in some way, involved in creating visual content using both mediums, then I will be happy bunny. Oh, and I've handed my teaching notice in for this summer - so watch this space...
